As a swimwear designer, I love seeing what’s out there in stores—but I also know exactly what makes me feel confident in a bikini. For our family vacation, we spent a little over three weeks in Mexico with my husband and our two toddler boys. I knew I had to pack light, but when it comes to swimwear, there’s no compromise.
Before leaving in January, I ordered a bikini set from VS that I truly liked. The top fit well, was adjustable, had a beautiful print, and underwires that kept my bust lifted. Along with that set, I packed a total of four swim sets—two from my own Mamacita Swim collection and two from other brands.
As the days went by, with lots of pool time before and after naps, I realized my swimsuits were constantly getting wet. No matter how quickly they dried, I kept reaching for my own designs over and over again. It wasn’t about being seen or feeling judged by other parents—it was about comfort, fit, and confidence. The high-waist bottoms, timeless designs, and fully adjustable, no-underwire tops gave me freedom to play with my boys and socialize with other moms without a second thought.
Over three weeks, I loved wearing my Mamacita Swim pieces. I never felt the urge to shop for something new in local boutiques because I knew nothing would fit or feel like my own designs. It was such a satisfying reminder of why I create swimwear—to make women feel supported, confident, and comfortable while living their best moments in and out of the water.
